We will spend the majority of the Fall of 2025 preaching, reading, studying, and reflecting on the book of Hebrews. The main idea of Hebrews is that “Jesus is Better.” He is better or superior than any angel, priest, sacrifice, temple, or old way of relating to God.
The goal and hope for his sermon series: we are more convinced that Jesus is better, we have more assurance of our salvation, and we are more serious about loving and helping each other endure in faithfulness to Christ.
Below are some resources to help us get acquainted with this powerful letter.
As we begin, we highly recommend the below Book of Hebrews overview video from the BibleProject to get a deep framework of this book. We’ve also included Paul David Tripp’s Hebrews Summary video as well.

Our Teaching Team has prayerfully put together the following Reading Plan as a resource to accompany the weekly teaching. Camping out in one area of Scripture for a length of time can feel mundane after awhile, but we know just how impactful it can be when done intentionally and prayerfully. We invite you to dig in deep with us, asking the Lord to reveal more of His character and truth each day as you settle in to this portion of His Word.
You can grab a hard copy of this Plan on Sunday mornings in our Foyer, or click below for the digital version.
If you’ve ever read the Hebrews, you know how powerful and hope-filled it is. But you’ve probably also encountered confusing parts, even unsettling ones. We believe that Hebrews is consistent with the whole of the Bible in areas of the security of a believer in Christ’s salvation, while at the same time being honest about the seriousness of the letter’s warnings.
At Stonegate Fellowship, we believe these passages deserve careful attention. While they are challenging, they are also deeply pastoral and purposefully placed. We will address these on Sundays, but will also provide a resource that goes further. We hope that this resource will help you understand how these warnings fit within Hebrews’ larger message, what they mean for your everyday life as a follower of Jesus, and help you gain more assurance in Jesus and His gospel.
